Every customer's requirements are different, and at EDesignWare, we embrace that difference and tailor our procedures and methods to your project and requirements. All projects include some of the activities described below. Tell us what you want. Project Management This function may be filled by the customer or by one of EDesignWare experienced Project Managers or in some cases by an EDesignWare Engineer. Not every project requires a highly formalized project management structure. Our goal is to get the job done - "On Time And Within Budget". We find that large projects which involve multi-disciplined activities, work best if we set-up a detailed project schedule with identified resources and clear commitments from all involved. The Project Manager is responsible for maintaining the project schedule, coordinating the efforts of EDesignWare and the customer along with outside laboratories and vendors. Regular project review meetings are held. Research Some projects require research to be conducted prior to the development of a project specification or statement of work. This research is generally handled on a time and material basis. Specifications You may already have a specification, or one may be developed by EDesignWare to meet your needs and that of the specific project. It can vary from a simple statement of work to a complete product specification that defines all features, functions, operating environment, applicable standards and testing. For large projects, EDesignWare may quote a fixed cost to develop a project or product specification. Such a specification becomes your property and you are under no obligation to proceed further with EDesignWare. Along with specification, we will deliver a cost estimate and proposed development schedule. Costs Given a detailed specification or a clear statement of work, EDesignWare will quote a fix price, or if you prefer, we will work on a time and material basis. All project cost estimates carry a risk of inaccuracy. At EDesignWare, we believe that we should absorb the risk, not the customer. If we fail to anticipate problems we lose, not you. Commitments At EDesignWare, we take our commitments very seriously. Our goal is to exceed your expectations and of course, to be "On Time And Within Budget". Delivery Specific deliverables are generally transmitted via email. On large projects, we setup a secure FTP sight as a depository for all schedules, schematics, board designs, source code, component information and bills of material.
