EDesignWare is dedicated to delivering world class hardware, firmware and software solutions "On Time And Within Budget". Too often companies, departments and individuals allow projects to drag on, constantly missing targets. Clearly defined responsibilities and a commitment to meeting deadlines are simple tools that keep us on track. On most projects unforeseen problems occur, we usually plan for some. We don't automatically use these problems as an excuse to move deadlines. We actively manage the resolution of problems, work longer hours and bring in additional resources as needed to get back on schedule. An individual must have a sense of urgency to work for EDesignWare . We are not
afraid to say, "I don't know". We hate
paperwork, but document everything. We make intelligent design trade-off decisions that balance risk and reward. Each decision made in the development process has a risk and reward associated with the decision. The risk or reward may be to cost, delivery, reliability or functionality. Making the right choice is often difficult. The decision to use a $5.00 component versus a $.50 component must be balanced with the associated risks in delivery, reliability and functionality. For a one of a kind piece of process control equipment, component cost has very low weight. For a consumer product the $4.50 difference in cost could be the difference between a successful product and a failure. We avoid the bleeding edge whenever possible. When an engineer finds the "perfect" new part that will be available just-in-time to meet a project schedule, we usually use an older less "perfect" part. Experience has taught us that the perfect part usually is not. It is not perfect when first available or it is not available when it was planned to be. At times, due to rapidly changing technology we are forced to work on the edge, when we do, we keep our eyes wide open and try to plan for a fall, should one occur. We hate single source components. Competition is great; it keeps prices down and gives the customer control of their product. At times we must use single source parts, but we try to avoid them or plan for alternatives. We will only design with such a part if we have high confidence in the integrity and viability of the supplier. The Customer is NOT always right, but they pay the bills. When a customer hires EDesignWare, we hope it is because they recognize our expertise and experience. If we see a better way to approach a project it is our obligation to tell the customer about it. After giving our opinion we accept the customer’s decisions and proceed. Our goal is to develop a long term working relationship with our customers.
